Avid FX on Macbook Pro Lion 10.7.2

    Hello.

I am using Avid Media Composer 6.0.1 on a Macbook Pro 2011 with 10.7.2.

Avid Media Composer works fine (after downgrading from Lion 10.7.3 to 10.7.2).

But Avid Fx, that comes now with MC6, just won't work as it should... When I touch something, scroll the timeline, or adjust color in the boris 3 way color correction, it takes seconds until something happens, the application is nearly unusable for me...

One could think my hardware is too old, but I have a Macbook Pro 2011, customized with the best hardware Apple would built in their Macbook Pros...

Is anyone else running Avid FX6 on Lion?

    What may be wrong?

    Best wishes

Well a little sluggish is one thing but it is so slow, there is no sense in using it... It definately wasn't intended to work like that...

Hey you gotta go in to the preferences and enable Multi-Processing to use all of your cpu cores, and you can also adjust how much the gpu does. and work in draft view.

    should become usable.

Oh really? I never heard of those two options... where do I find them exactly?

Does it harm to have those enabled all of the time? Is it better to enable those while working with avid as well?

Yeah the setting are in the Avid Fx prefernces it acts independently from avid media compser. Theirs a bug that makes it still have all the avid info on the top bar but when you click on them it will give you the avid fx options.  I have no idea why all that is turned off by default.

Well unfortunately the "preferences" are grayed out in my Avid Fx...In the standalone application and while im though MC in Avid FX... How do I access them?

Thank you very much I found it.

Strangely Multi Processing in the Preview tab was already enabled...

I experimented with Avid Fx and tried out a few filters...

And the only filter that is completely unusable laggy is the 3 way color correction. The only one I relly needed so far ...

Re: Avid FX on Macbook Pro Lion 10.7.2

That is really annoying... What is the reason for that? Our machines seem to be good enough for most other filters...
