Actually I am today using a 1.1 Macpro with MC 6 and it is working a lot better than it did with MC5.5.3- No dropped frames with P2 footage, RGB output and DVI to the Panny from the Aja IO express, and Pglue error almost disappeared.
The Trusty Adrenaline is now permanently pressed into service as an SDI audio disembedder!
Thank you Avid team.
Hi all. So, I'm unclear as to whether this works or not. I am working with an editor now and he has a MacPro (version1,1) 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor with plenty of RAM. We tried to install Avid 6.0, but got the error about not being able to access the 64-bit kernal. Can someone please tell me definitively if there is an answer to this? I am quite confused.
My 1,1 Mac pro 2x dual core 3GHz 7GB Ram (as below) works OK with MC 6. It has 32bit EFI and cannot boot into a 64 Kernel. I get dropped frames if I run in 10bit mode with P2 Intra100 footage. Green (8bit) is just about OK until it hits a real time dissolve. Yellow/Green is fine.
I suspect a less demanding codec like DNxHD or uncompressed would be fine.
I would say it is running as well as it did with MC 5.53.
I am still getting occasional PGlue errors (as I did in 5.53) but I think this is corrupt audio media.
