Hello!
This is my first time ever working with Sorenson Squeeze...
I watched tutorials on the internet, what to do, and it looked pretty simple.
When I tried myself I encountered this problem: I have to video in my Sorenson Squeeze...
After sending my Sequenze to Sorenson Squeeze, there is no video ...
I changed the settings a bit, put them back to default but nothing helps. I tried it with "Use marks" then "Use enabled tracks" then both, no video.
I have screenshots of what my settings look, so maybe someone has an idea...
Best wishes!
First, MC v5.5.2 is not supported with OSX 10.6.8. This may not be part of the problem, but needs to be resolved. You should upgrade to MC 5.5.3. This is free and available in the Download Center. If you're using Software Activation for licenesing, be sure to Deactivate prior to uninstalling 5.5.2, and re-Activate once 5.5.3 is installed.
Review the ReadMe file as well for other possibe assistance.
Meanwhile, as a test, try exporting your sequence as a QT Reference file. This takes just a minuite, and may offer clues. If that plays back OK, then import that into Squeeze, and see what happens.

Hello.
I exported my sequence as a QT Reference. But Quicktime player is not able to play it. It says my file is in a format QuicktimePlayer doesn't understand...
I have the newest version of Quicktime Player.
When I press the spacebar, to give me a preview of the file, my osx is able to play the audio, but has no video.
As you see in my settings, I think I didn't disable anything that would give me video.
So far ^^
Best wishes
Sounds like you don't have the QuickTime codec installed for the file type you're exporting as a QuickTime reference movie. What's the format and codec of the movie on the timeline? Once we know that, we can tell you how to fix it.
Must think of something clever to go here...
Good evening!
The source material is XDCAM HD 50Mbits Codec and in a .MXF container.
I transcoded h264 .mov material to XDCAM HD 50Mbits .MXF in Media Composer, to make it more compatible.
Did you install either the XDCAM AMA plug-in and/or the Sony Clip Browser software for XDCAM? Either one of those should also install the proper QuickTime codec on your computer. Try this link.
I reinstalled the XDCAM AMA and XDCAM EX AMA plugin, but it didn't help.
I can't download the Sony file, because I don't have a Service PLUS account, and for some reason I can't register...
Other Videos work in Sorenson. The problem is more defined now: I can not play Quicktime references on my Mac...
I'm not sure how to solve it.
Now I really need help :(
I installed this Codec Package http://avid.force.com/pkb/LegacySearch?DocId=274627 with the hope it would help me ...
It didn't and plus that, now I can't imprt media anymore in my MC5.
I open a bin and do right click - import. A window says
"There are no media drivers available. You will only be able to import shot logs."
After that I am not able to import video or audio media...
The old problem stays: I export a quicktime reference and it can't play in quicktime or sorenson.
Marc,
Send me an email off forum and I can assist you... please reference this thread.

Well the "There are no media drivers available. You will only be able to import shot logs." -problem was solved through formatting and installig the OSX completely new.
To the Quicktime References problem:
I contacted the support and it seems the problem was the XDCAM HD 50Mbits MXF Codec I used. I transcoded my material with Media Composer in this Codec and thought it must work, as I transcoded it with Avid directly...
But it seems the Codec isn't as good as I thought to export as a quicktime reference. The support told me to transcode one file in DNxHD MXF and try to export a quicktime reference wich worked. Sadly I have a whole project with XDCAM now.
Does anyone know this problem? Is there an existing Codec I can download to make such Quicktime References work on my Mac? I installed a XDCAM AMA plugin and a XDCAM EX AMA plugin from the CD the Avid Reseller gave me. Maybe I need a XDCAM HD plugin?
Any idea?
Marc
Go to your local Avid.com page, search for Avid Media Access. Find the Plug-ins tab on the AMA page, click on the link for the XDCAM software. You should be able to download the software. If not, let us know what the link is and what went wrong.
Also, when you install Media Composer the Avid Codecs PE are installed on your system. There is another installer for Avid Codecs LE that's also available with the install but guess what the difference is between PE and LE? LE is the "lite edition" licensed for users that don't have Media Composer that need to read Quicktime files with Avid codecs. But the LE version doesn't have the MPEG-2 codecs that are necessary for....XDCAM.
HI I'm cant answer you question on that sorry, but I'm have a similar probelm sending a clip to AVID FX from the timeline. when I add the filter and open AVID FX there is no media in my comp. What am I missing?
Thanks
