It's easy to draw a line or a shape in Marquee and have your text crawl along the path. Just make a shape, convert it to a path, begin typing and set it to 'crawl'. Four easy steps. This tutorial from Splice, one of Avid's Canadian Training Partners with locations throughout Canada, shows you how.
You'll also learn how to spin individual characters around their own axis, a common technique on major motion picture movie credits. Finally, you'll see how to combine both techniques so the text crawls on a path while individual characters animate.

What about moving a shape on a path you create? I can't get it to move? I'm trying to creat a heart monitor effect and can't seem to make anything move along the path? Thanks for the great tutorial!
1 Create your path.
2 Create a text and choose crawl in the motion menu
3 Drag your shape in the path container in the layer window
4 Align your shape as you want and delete the text.
Woody,
