Hey. I recently had an upgrade to a certified HP Z8 G4 Workstation with 64GB RAM and Nvidia Quadro P5000. Instead of Nitris, I now have DeckLink Studio 4K. And all this is running on Windows 10Pro. Along with this upgrade, I got a lot of headaches, ranging from the more non-working BorisRED, on which I had many projects done with the graphics, to the background transcoder, which stopped working after the 2018.10 version of the Composer, and only now returned to work on the latest version . To all this chaos on the most powerful and expensive graphic station added drop-frames on the simplest effect of picture-in-picture when viewed in the final quality and export of the master. This is the cherry on the cake. When more than ten years ago I was working on Mac Sphere systems and then Matrox boards(InSite & Media100), nothing like this happened. Now, when for the simplest work a certified station is required for inconceivable money, I get all these surprises.I will simply leave here a solution to this problem, which seems to me to be found.
This is using the Avid provided Nvidia drivers? Have you tried other versions as well?

What a workstation! It should work flawlessly. I don't get it: is GPU effects enabled, or You're highlithing what You had to disable? Sure the cards are seated in the proper expansion slots as per the Avid config guidelines?

Dom Q. Silverio: This is using the Avid provided Nvidia drivers? Have you tried other versions as well?
Dom Q. Silverio,
I just checked the driver version. I remember well that after installing the new version of Composer, I launched the installation of the certified driver. But now it seems, somehow it turned out that the driver was not installed properly. I re-installed and the problem seems to have disappeared. Thanks for the constructive response. And I apologize for possibly overly emotional commentary. In fact, this problem has been found on me in several versions. But before I did not find any solution. This time it seems managed to find it. I will keep you posted if the problem persists again.
Windows automatic updates?!?
luca.mg: Windows automatic updates?!?
Yes, luca.mg. I use AvidSysDiagTools to configure the system. But this utility offers to completely disable the security center, which I cannot allow on a system connected to the Internet. After any updating the system, all settings are reset and I re-launch the utility. It would be nice to have a reg or bat file with reasonable settings that are automatically applied. I once used Symantec Endpoint Protection, but it significantly pinched traffic to the media server and had to be abandoned in favor of the standard firewall.
Hello,
The problem I was talking about has not disappeared anywhere. I still get dropped frames on the final quality and export.

Also, when launching Adobe applications, I get the following message twice:
The only solution is also to disable GPU render on effects. And now I began to doubt whether it was worth spending so much money on a video card that is useless LOL. However, you can also switch to half quality of the preview. But it does not affect export.
Update: After the next clean reinstallation of the Nvidia driver, these messages disappeared. Now I completely forcibly turned off the Windows update to avoid resetting any settings.
Update2: Now the problem with dropped frames seems to disappear again. In addition, I continued to configure the Windows system in manual mode, because the AvidStsDiagTools utility could not disable the security center.
