I want to move my legally purchased copy of Squeeze 11 Pro from my old Win 7 computer to my new Win 10 machine before the September deadline. I ran the installer which says to first install Quicktime and it sends me to an Apple link to install QT 7.7.9 for Windows.
Two Questions:
With all I've been reading about QT's vulnerability, is this safe to install on my new Windows machine?
Will Squeeze run without QT?
I have a fantastic editing assistant. He stays by my side when I edit...doesn't talk too much...and thinks I'm a genius! Check him out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQVkYaaPO6g
Squeeze needs Quicktime to work. As far as I know even MC still requires QT to fully function. Best advice is to read the Avid KB regarding installing and setting up QT on a system. If it's installed as recommended in the KB then everything should be OK.
I haven't had any issues so far on my system. There have been reports of issues with the QT installer on Win 10, but I didn't encounter any, a Web search may help on the subject.
