I'm running Avid 2021.6 presently in a Windows 11 environment at an educational facility. Each student signs into their own account and launches Avid.
Just had a question - I understand using the Site Settings to lock down settings between users and accounts. Is there a way to make a layout of customized buttons on the Timeline (I know how to set them up via Command Pallet) and have them be applied to anyone who logins into Windows and launches Avid? I can apply timeline settings to the Site Settings, but that doens't transfer customized button layouts
Presently, a new user logs in and launches and it reverts back to the default layout. This is our first time running Avid with mulitple accounts in a Windows environment. Previously, they would all be sharing an account with multiple User settings, but IT has told us we are no longer able to do this, so each user logs in, so any advice would be appreciated.
I can't answer your question but something that I find annoying is we have multiple clients, but it is the same freelance editors who use our edit facility. We use Windows domain log-in for everything and is integrated in the Nexis Client to allow only the clients own Nexis workspaces to be visible to themselves. Each client has their own log-in so that clients can't browse each others rushes and files on the network fileservers BUT this then means that for each Windows client log-in the editor has to create or copy, if they know where the user settings live, their own settings to the client's domain log-in profile. The option to opt-in to have your user settings accessible across all log-ins would be more convenient.
