Hi,
I know I can transcode whole clips and sequences, but is it possible to transcode between in & out points marked on a specific clip?
No because you can't part transcode a clip in thyat way.
You can create a sub sequence between the in and out and transcode that.
Or on a single clip create a subclip and transcode that.

Got it, thank you.
Ok, something I'm also a bit confused with. If I transcode something to, just for argument's sake, DNxHD 145, do my edit on the timeline, and then once happy export to a MOV file, there are a few things I'd like to know. Ultimately, I'm thinking re: storage/archiving.
i) Will the export be performed from the DNx files or from the original source material? How to choose between one or the other?
ii) If after this the source material is deleted, could I do a later export from the DNx files? How? What are the issues involved to consider?
iii) If the original source material is backed-up somewhere completely elsewhere, and at some future date I connect it back to my system (with all the correct paths, etc.), can I for yet another export relink again to this source material, etc.?
Thank you,
DC
