Wow! I just checked out the NEW Avid Knowledge Base. Forget everything you know about the old one. The new site makes it quick and easy to locate answers to your technical questions, find downloads, email support questions to Avid's technical gurus, and track the status of your support questions. Very slick!

You can check it out here.

I recently installed Xpress Pro 5.8 on my MacBook Pro Intel, updated to 10.4.11 and upgraded Quicktime to version 7.3.1.
Avid says version 7.3 is supported, but I could only find 7.3.1 to download from the Apple website.

I'm working with HD footage originated from a Panasonic HVX 200. After the shooting I copied the P2 cards to a hard drive.

Then I followed the procedure and copied the video and audio MXF files from the hard drive to the local Media Drive I will use for the editing (1TB Western Digital) while Avid is NOT running. I copied them to the directory Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 that I created.

When I open the Media Tool and select the Media drive I copied the MXF files to, and search for Master Clips on the video drive I tranferred the MXF files to, the Media Tool appears EMPTY. I could see the clips with my previous Avid version 5.7.2!

Could this be due to the Quicktime version?

Also, I downloaded the Goodies for 5.8. When I unzip them, an HD PlasmaWipes folder appears. What should I do with it?

Thank you so much in advance for your help.
