The National Press Photographers Assocation's 2008 NPPA NewsVideo Workshop (March 16-21, 2008) proved to be one of the most diverse ever. Nearly 200 Video Storytellers from television stations, newspapers, churches, military and private production companies from around the world converged on
Norman, OK for a week of intense study and networking.
It was all video, all the time...moving pictures, natural sound, writing, shooting, producing and,
of course, editing on Avid non-linear systems. Ted Spruill, one of Avid's senior Applications engineers, was on hand to help the students learn the basics of Avid's editing systems and also served as the technical guru managing a full range of editing workstations, shared storage and asset management. Photojournalists went home with a new found set of skills and
appreciation for what it takes to tell compelling stories through the medium of video.
