Avid at the 2011 NAB Show: Main Stage Speakers

With such a wide array of activities and events happening this year at NAB, it is hard to decide what we’re most excited for.  With the continuing  buzz surrounding the releases of Media Composer 5.5 and Pro Tools 9, and our booth hosting some of the most creative and well-respected industry leaders, there certainly won’t be a dull moment.

One of the highlights will surly be the main stage presentations  by a full lineup of editors , directors, and producers  sharing  exclusive insights into their broadcast, newsroom, and post production workflows, explaining how Avid’s solutions help them turn their ideas into blockbuster realities.  Avid’s line-up of guest speakers appearing on our main stage this year includes:

- Director, Producer and Actor Kevin Smith will discuss his latest film Red State and the role of editing in the creative process.  Known for his unique brand of humor, Smith’s filmmaking credits include the critically acclaimed Clerks and Dogma.

- The post-production team behind Disney’s Tron:Legacy will chat about the role Media Composer and Pro Tools played in helping dictate the creative vision in a 3D environment.

- The creative minds behind HBO’s hit series True Blood will discuss their recent move to HD.  Editor Louise Innes and Assistant Editor Charles Bunn will also talk about workflow and management.

- Chris Fournelle, the post-production director of PBS’ provoking documentary series Frontline, will talk about complex workflow management on a tight deadline

- The post-production team behind the independent short film Agent Zero will discuss the importance Media Composer and Pro Tools in achieving their creative vision.

- Josh Young, independent post-facility owner of The Den Recorders and reality TV editor, discusses the essential components of Media Composer and Pro Tools solutions

- Production Supervisor Adam Ford and Online/Offline Editor Pepe Serventi of Magical Elves, producers of Top Chef, discuss the media management process behind this critically acclaimed reality television series.
