There is an AMA mov option in MC to perserve or discard the alpha channel. Can't remember where it is off hand but disable that and see if that helps...

Why Do *.mov files AMA link as Matte?

Hi, folks. Thanks for the assist. I recently got a new system, downloaded MCv7.0.3 and when I try to AMA link an *.mov file it always comes is as a Matte - and is completely black. The file is a series of scrolling filmstrips - but I don't see why (whatever the content) these should show up as black Mattes...? The only option I see when linking...

3d effects on pictures

I have a project coming up. It's 4 1 hour docs and will be primarilly interviews and a ton of stills. We are going to do what we call Animates on all the stills (3d moves, parallax) which we ussually send out of house to a gfx company for. They cut out the images and create 3d moves/Prallax moves in after effects. Is there a workflow that puts this...

If you use the Avid Export and choose a custom codec it will be very slow and you risk issues with QT gamma shifts etc. What codec are you using in the QT file? You could export QT ref files and then use squeeze or similar to make the files int he background?
