I've not used MC (7.0.2) in a year or so. I found that there is an update to 7.0.5. Reading the instructions I saw that I'm supposed to unistall the earlier version before installing the update. I am no expert on this area, but my readings have lead me to understand that to work in HDR you need a codec with greater than 10 bit quality. That is one of the reasons DNx HR was developed. Think of it this way. In our normal Rec709 world, you see banding in 8bit images when grads of subtle luminance are present. 10bit gives you more "steps"...

One thing to consider is that at the bin level you can use the Field Motion data column to "lie" to avid. You can select a clip (or group of clips) and change the attribute in this column and then apply. From that point on Avid will treat the source material in whatever manner you have chosen (Progressive or Interlace). You might need to Refresh...

hmm well, maybe we've been leaning out the window too much. the gpu is some obscure onboard device neither intel, amd or nvidia? can't say that i've tried that. usually any gpu including intel will give you some sort of picture. colors might be off, but that wouldn't matter for your task. or do you maybe have several gpus in device manager...
