Thanks for you input. I often transcode to DNx when sending to Resolve. Did not think to on this project for some reason. Learned my lesson ... One detail I left out in the original post. As a matter of course, we always process to DNx when outputing from Resolve. And as I said, when we checked those files before opening in MC, everything was good....

XDCam50 material has been coming back into Avid two frames out of sync for me too. I reported it to Blackmagic Support a year ago and they said they logged it as a bug. There have been numerous updates since then but it's yet to be fixed. I always transcode to DNxHD to avoid the problem. It's strange it's not all XDCam50 clips that are out...

Re: lost Project files but have Avid media files on separate drives

You don't say whether you are on mac or pc, but search your system for avid attic. There will be backups of your projects in there. If lost your projects because the HD crashed completely you are probably SOL unless you backed up your projects to another drive, or "the cloud."
