WTF can't I install on a non-system drive?!

I install Avid on a different partition to the OS and set the media to a different drive altogether. The latest version of MEdia Composer doesn't let you choose its install location! WTF not?!!!! I now have a SSD OS drive with 2.5GB spare on it which is fine. But not enough to install Avid. So it's not going there. Does anyone know of a workaround...

MC 2018.5.0 Linking to oversized TIFF images requires a flip

I have an interesting problem running Media Composer 2018.5.0 on Mac OSX 10.11.6 El Capitan. When I use the Source Browser and link to a TIFF file that is larger than the project size, the TIFF file comes in flipped (I would have to apply the Flip effect to make it normal). (Linking to a TIFF file of the same size as the project settings seems to work...

read 25fps audio timecode in a 50p project?

I've got some 50p footage where the audio timecode recorded is in 25p. I realized that i cannot use the command "read audio timecode" in the 50p project - I get errors and out of sync. But I can open the same footage (Bin) in an 25p project perform the "read audio TC" command and then reopen the bin in the 50p project and perform...

I suggest using the latest NEXIS client available - this is currently 18.5. There are a few Mac specific fixes in this release which would make it valuable to use. The documentation for support is specific to the ISIS client. The NEXIS client is available on the Avid Download Center .
